modern offices with look & feel as a major design aspect
While efficient use of space was important in this interior fitout for a Superannuation Company in Edgecliff, Sydney, the interior ‘look & feel’ was a major aspect of the brief and much effort was expended in achieving a calm, classically elegant welcoming aesthetic.
The reception area in particular had to incorporate a fully functional day-to-day workstation, yet also maintain this aesthetic.
Joinery : Electrics, telecoms and cabling to the desk were run under new hardwood flooring and concealed within the slab ends of the desk up to the desktop. The joinery combined White Carrara marble and Corian solid laminates of similar colour tones.
This combination of materials, space planning and three-dimensional design and the backdrop of acid etched glass panels to the rear, ensure the aesthetic is achieved. The glass panels give a strong sense of the reception area as the focal point to work areas beyond and allow shared natural light into the centre of the office area.
Outcome : Contemporary, elegant light-filled spaces enhance the operations and work environments for staff & ensure a pleasant, efficient feel is communicated to visiting clients.
