Scandinavian Inspiration

The Galerie Bench © is intended for use in any environment where a simple, stylish bench seat would be appropriate. Featuring a European ash veneered top with solid ash edging & supported on an anodised aluminium frame, the bench also has three cushions, adding a counterpoint of colour and texture to the piece.

The bench was conceived as an item of furniture to compliment a classic Fritz Hansen Swan chair in the reception area of our former offices in inner-city Chippendale. This original design context was somewhat compact and suggested a simple, understated design, which could be applied in many similar settings.

Outcome : Insitu, the bench completed a corner composition along with a B&B Italia sofa. The section of bench closest to the sofa, had no cushions, in order to act as a side table of a table lamp etc. Detailing of the cushions mimicked the upholstery detailing of the leather side arms of the sofa and was selected in an inky-blue jacquard fabric from Mokum Textiles to align with the dark blue sofa leather.
